BIO

My name is Emma, and I am a Lydiard running coach, Personal trainer and Hill and Moorland Leader.

I have been running for almost 8 years now.  I have been practicing as a coach now for the last 2 years. I predominantly coach people online, working with people running 10k-100 miles. I have helped people achieve their first Ultra and PBs in the 5/10k, half marathon and Marathon on both road and trail. I am currently undertaking my qualification as an Ultra running specific coach.

What I really love about being a coach is helping people dreams become reality. Changing limiting beliefs into achieving goals. This makes me happy! I see coaching as a partnership, we work together to build you a plan to suit you and your needs. I believe in educating my clients so they can make informed decision about what is best for them and their bodies.

A training plan will look very different for everyone based on their goals and their time available. I am a big believer in rest, recovery and balancing the work to allow the body to adapt and recover is key. In training we work on both the physical and mental sides of training, to really help you reach your full potential. I also help you get to grips with nutrition for racing and training, and strength training to help build an injury proof body.

As a coach I try and take the stress out of building a training plan so all you need to do is train! Together we can achieve anything!

ABOUT ME

I came to running later in life at the age of 37, after having my second child. I did couch to 5k (after 3 attempts!) joined a local running club and quickly got hooked! I loved the way running made me feel mentally and physically. It showed me I was much stronger than I thought I was and gave me a sense of freedom that I hadn’t felt for a long time. I quickly moved from the road to the trail and up the distances. I fell in love with the hills and trails and found my happy place on the top of the summits! Ultra running is my real passion and challenging myself to run in new places and terrains is what I enjoy the most. Running has really changed my life, and I want to help others change theirs. That is why I became a coach!
