What is involved in coaching –I offer a fully supported coaching package including an individual, fully flexible, training plan delivered via TrainingPeaks. Weekly check-ins and monthly face to face virtual catch ups. As well as running workouts there will be advice on nutrition, strength training, kit and mindset. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
How often will I need to train – This is fully dependant on what time you have available and what else you have going on in your life, aswell as the event you are training for. There will be an advised minimum time that is recommended that you can commit, but I will discuss this with you, and quite often its not as much time as you think!
Who is a coach for? In short EVERYONE! Quite often people think having a coach is just for the elite or pro runners. However, this is not the case! A coach can take out all the stress out of planning and organise priority sessions for your upcoming race. There are so many different ideas about training, and there is not a one size fits all. A coach can help you stay on track and get the best out of your available time, so you can train efficiently. So, all you need to do is run!
Can I change my plan? I offer unlimited changes for you training plan, I appreciate life can throw us curveballs so your plan is completely flexible, and I will always take into consideration what else is going on in your life and plan around that.
How long will I need to train for? This depends on how much time we have available, what your current fitness levels are, and what it is you are training for. For most effective changes and adaptations, you need around 12-24 weeks.
Is strength training essential? YES! To improve your performance as a runner and prevent injury you need to build a stronger body. This doesn’t have to be hours of time in the gym, I will advise on simple exercises that will assist you to build a strong body to help you run for life.
